Valley Regional Pk
Site 7E - $13.
This was a nice little campground beside a golf course. The shower facilities weren't the best, however, it appeared they might be building new ones.
The weather was chilly and we ended up using our electric heater.
There was a "glo-ball" tournament taking place on the golf course. We could see flashlights and hear talk and laughter when we sat around the fire.
This marked the end of our camping season for 1996.

Wakaw Lake Regional Pk
Overflow - $12.
This was nice campground with a great beach. However, it was very busy. We ended up camped in stall parking in the overflow area.
We enjoyed walks about the campground. They have a large area with permanent full-time campers. They had built decks, fences and planted flower gardens.
We played some bocci ball.

Eagle Creek Regional Pk - $10.
We headed to the park on Thursday. My birthday!
Ron drove in to work on Friday and I spent the day reading outside. The weather was hot and there were very few campers in the campground. Most enjoyable!
We played some bocce ball and read books. A nice relaxing weekend.

Manitou Regional Park
Site #121 - $12.
Ron had his first poor backup experience and took out the sign post at our campsite. We just re-planted it. ;)
On Saturday Ray and Frankie Finlay drove up from Regina with their motorhome.
It was cool and rainy all weekend. We made good use of our furnace. A good weekend for Canasta and card games.

SK Landing Prov Pk
Site #63
We chose to camp at the Landing so we would be close to the lake and could pick up our camping gear from out of the tent trailer. Also the Lake lawn needed mowing.
There were canker worms galore at the landing. They were hanging from the trees and coming in through the vents. ugh.
Mom and Jerry dropped in for a visit.

The First Night
Back to Medicine Hat for the big purchase and the pick up.
We bussed to Swift Current and picked up Jeff's 'new to him' Chevy S-10 that was purchased from Jerry. We drove the truck to Medicine Hat for Jeff where Jeff would pick it up the following weekend.
We arrived in Medicine Hat with our bedding and we spent our 'FIRST NIGHT' (!) in our 'home on wheels' parked in Mike's driveway.
We had fun shopping for supplies at Mike's Consumer's Distributing store where we picked up pots and a coffee maker. New dishes were purchased at Superstore.
Ron actually impressed everyone (including himself) with his first back-up parking job.
Our first long distance towing was the drive home on Sunday, May 26.

"The Beginnings"
We are on our way home from a week of holidays in Kelowna and Abbosford and we stop in Medicine Hat to visit Mike and family.
It is the start of a new "love affair". Ron spots a 1988 GMC truck paired with a 1990 Citation 5th Wheel on the "Sterling Trailer Sales" lot with a bright red "FOR SALE" sign.

He insists I come for a ride to "just take a look". And yes, it is in immaculate condition and yes, it might be something we would be interested at retirement. But for later... no???
Then, we are back home in Saskatoon. The infatuation continues. Ron can't get this holiday duo out of his thoughts. The call is made and a deal is struck.
