Emerson Bridge Campground
$12 - no services, wood cost

We decided to check this place out on our drive home from the ball tourney. This campground is located along Highway 36 on the Red Deer River.  It's okay for short-term but there are no services. And no cell service unless you drive to the top of the hill. Also? The mosquitoes were very bad. There is a bit of a highway noise and showers are available.

We rode our bikes around the campground and we had a fire with deadfall that Ron was able to gather.

Ball Tourney - Blackfalds, AB

Free camping at the ball field. They were no services but there were wash rooms and showers on site

We camped beside the Phaffs and Barry Middleton. Others rented a room in the Motel. Some good ball was played (Ron) and watched (me). Between games we had the team came over for beer and dice games. Lots of laughs and good times. The team ended up with three wins and one loss, so 2nd in the "A" event.

50 YEARS! at the Hills

Warlodge
Site #33 - $20 p only, free wood

This was the girlfriend 50th birthday celebration. The rest of the gang stayed in the condos. We had a lot of fun.  Went for walks, lots of laughs and fun.

We had a beer run to Maple Creek and then drove to Fort Walsh with all of us piling into Bob's 'work' van.  No seats in the back, so Ron and Rene sat on lawn chairs.  There may have been a beer or two drank along the way. oops....

Deb, Rene, Sandy and Lewis made the drive to the Sandhills. The Wourms and us stayed behind. Went for a drive tour about the area and Marilyn and I visited with Hazel and Doug Brown when we saw their vehicle at the cabin.

On Friday there was a hail storm.  It did quite a bit of damage to the trailer and the canopy plus the hood of the truck. We stayed an extra night after rest of the gang left. Maryland and I visited with hazel Doug in Hazel Brown.

Gooseberry Lake Prov Pk
Site #6 - $22 p/w free firewood

We arrived at this park after travelling through heavy wind and rain almost all the way from Cold Lake.  We didn't bother to unhook.  ugly weather!!

Got the phone call!!  Leanne had a baby girl! Zoe Wynne Kesslar.
We spent most of the time in the trailer as it was too miserable to explore our surroundings.

The park was okay from what we could see. The lake is quie small.  We arrived home Wed, June 4th.
