This Campground was on the edge of the city, beside the rodeo grounds, ball fields, soccer and rugby fields. All were busy when we arrived. There was also a motocross bike park here.

After setting up we enjoyed a nice, long, hot shower in the shower house -- after a week of no showers.  I had hoped to do some laundry, but the Laundromat at a nearby strip mall was closed. We then decided to stay the second night.

We did some shopping at Costco, Wholesale Sports and at the Northwood Mall.  They had a great bike trail adjacent to the park which we rode on. We stopped to watch some ball and rugby games, although found rugby rather confusing to follow.

On our way out, we stopped at the Superstore and bought our two Mexican blankets.

Lesser Slave Lake, AB

Spruce Point Campground

Site #107 - $13 no service (x7)

We had a large fairly private site across the road from the beach. Perfect for parking Charlie's boat. The have a great beach - very sandy.  The lake, however, was down and very shallow. 

Charlie and family arrived on Wednesday at noon and shared the site with us. We went swimming and did some fishing. 

Carolyn's friend Lori and daughter Renata came for hot dogs on Wednesday night. Carolyn sister Bonnie, Mike, Cohen, Kyle and Tyler arrived on Thursday and parked in the site beside us. We had two days of wind and waves which cut into the fishing time.

Our trailer battery was okay for about four days and then we needed Charlie's generator. The battery didn't charge, however, until Ron used a trickle charger on it. The fast drain of the battery was very annoying as there was no water pump for washing up.

The guys and the kids fished on Tuesday morning until the wind picked up and it began to pour. They ended up 'rescuing' a young family whose small boat couldn't handle the wind and huge waves. It got pretty wild on the lake.

We all packed up and left on Monday morning.  A week without hookups was more than enough for me!

A week of celebrations! We met here to celebrate Jim and Janet 50th birthdays, their 30th anniversary, the brothers birthdays plus Ron retirement. 

Richard stayed at Charlie's until Heather arrived. Walter and Mary came out and stayed in the hotel. 

We went to Edmonton for supper and a barbecued roasted at Jim and Jan's on Saturday night. Then had dinner at Charlie's on Sunday night. 

We left Tuesday for Slave Lake. Dominique road up with us. Charlie had a meeting on Tuesday evening.

Medicine Hat, AB

Wild Rose Trailer Park

It was pouring rain all the way to Medicine Hat. It was too muddy at Mike's, so we ended up parking in the trailer park. We then went to Mike's for supper and stayed till 11 p.m.

On Saturday morning we bought new bikes and a bike rack at the bike store. A welder came to the campground to weld on a receiver for the bike rack. We had a late lunch and then did some more shopping.

Supper at Mikes once again.  Everyone came to the campground for bacon and eggs before we left on Sunday morning.

Banff, AB

Jeff came up on Wednesday prior to heading to work at 5. 

We then walked around Main Street and had supper at the Rose & Crown. Jeff was able to take a kitchen break and sit with us. 

On Thursday, Jeff came for breakfast. We went to the Pools, had supper and then played tile rummy and Domino's in till 11:45 p.m. 

We left the park at 9:30 on Friday.

Revelstoke, BC

It was cloudy rainy and cool when we arrived. We spent time in the pool before supper then again after supper. 

One last dip in the morning at 9 a.m.  We had a good visit with a lady who was there from Penticton.

Left the campground at 10:15 am.

Oyama, BC

Tween Lakes Campground

We had a great spot parked along side the canal. There were lots of Mallards hanging about, looking to be fed. The wind came up about 4 o'clock.

We had a very busy two weeks here. Kari came for two nights on the sofa; then Kari and Gerry stay for three additional nights in the tent. Doug and Rina, plus Dave and Michelle also came and spent time. 

We went into Dougs for a couple of meals and we were out for dinner one night with Kari and Gerry at the Turtle Bay Bar. Excellent meal of salmon and steak for the guys. 

All in all it was a great 2 weeks and we really enjoyed our time here. We left the campground on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

Blue River, BC

It was a very cool at only 5C in the evening. There was fresh snow in the mountains. Brrr!

We went for walks and a drive. We drove up a logging trail looking for Myrtle Lake. Very pretty drive, but we gave up before arriving at Myrtle Lake.

Left for Kelowna at 9:30 a.m.

STARTING RETIREMENT!

Drayton Valley, AB

Yay!!  Ron is officially retired and we head off on our first 'Now Retired' RV trip!

We left Saskatoon about 9:30 a.m. and arrived in Drayton Valley at 5:30.  We set up camp in the town campground.

We had dinner with Charlie, Carolyn, Dominique and Dustin. Scott was at camp. Vera was in the hospital with a broken pelvis which was the reason we headed to Drayton.

Our week:
- Shopping
- Ron & Charlie go fishing and Ron tries out his new fishing rod, a retirement gift from Marv/Linda.
- Hospital visits
- Campfires (joined by Carolyn's sister Janet and the kids)
- to Edmonton for an evening. The bros meet the Michauds at Leduc to discuss the 2000 family reunion. 

- another fishing trip with all four of us this time. Temp only 3C brrrr!!

We packed up and left on Monday June 7th at 10:30 a.m. Charlie came for breakfast, but Carolyn was working (school aide).

1999 - First Spring Outing!

It was a cloudy day, but the temperature continued to get warmer as we left Regina. 

The evening was beautiful as we sat around the fire. Not a breath of wind!

On Saturday, we were up by 8:30. We drove to the spa and and wandered through the few stores in the townsite. We then walked to Camp Easter Seal and back.

It got very windy and it continued to get worse. The temperature dropped from 25C to 20C mid afternoon.

Back home Sunday.
