more from Golden Sheaf

Yesterday after putting up a couple tarps to block the wind, we were able to sit around the fire. After dinner the wind went down and we biked around the park.

Those 225 permanent RV sites I mentioned? They don't have power or drinking water at their units!? Well, they do have lake water taps for watering grass etc. They haul their drinking water. Everybody has their yards really fixed up with grass, flowers, fences and multiple other landscaping. It is a really great little community. They all get by with solar power, batteries and inverters according to the one couple we chatted with. Interesting! I would have thought they all would have had power before us short term campers. Also, many people have golf carts parked out front. I guess they are for getting around the campground as there are no 'links' close by.

love the props!
We had hooked up to the water tap when we came yesterday but today we noticed "Not Potable" signs on some of the other taps. This morning we checked at the office. And, yes, it is all lake water. Oh well, it is not the first time I have brushed my teeth with lake water. We did that as kids at Lake Pelletier. We did bring some water which we had been using for drinking and we have now disconnected from the water tap. Thankfully we have good water in our tanks!
*ahem* Mr with the fishing rod!
It is good to see the sunshine and the temps rising. Ron did some fishing and caught a small jack that is back swimming in the lake. The sunshine has also brought out the boaters from town. We are parked by the boat launch and it has provided us with lots of entertainment. Boats in and boats out all afternoon. A steady stream. One has to wonder. Don't these young people work?? And how the hell do they afford these huge boats and the fancy trucks that pull them???

Well, time for bed. . . Tomorrow begins in half an hour!!
