We had a good visit with Rae. She has really nice little home in a great location. The back yard is very tiny, but all nicely landscaped and just perfect for her (and the animals!)! She seemed to be pretty good health wise, although she hadn't been feeling well for a few days prior to our visit and was seeing her doctor after we left. She is planning on spending a week at the lake at the end of July. She plans to not tell her doctors and just forward the phone. I feel bad that she's been on the lung transplant waiting list for SO long. It sure ties her down. She's not supposed to leave the province.
We then ended up spending 2 nights at Newell Lake or Kinbrook Island Prov. Pk. It is actually an 'island' with just the one road access. It's quite the bird sanctuary and we were certainly entertained by them. Ton's of birds singing, continually grabbing fish flies out of the air, feeding their young etc.
We could do without the gulls and the gophers however!! There are gopher holes EVERYWHERE and the gulls move in as soon as people walk away from their tables. I think there were a number of dogs who missed out on their day allowance of dog food!!

Yesterday was a beautiful calm day at the beach and their were lots of young mom's and toddlers. It's just 10 min from Brooks, so people take advantage on a nice day. There was a group of young ladies dumping out their beer in front of the conservation officer, so it is patrolled!!

Today, we will finish cleaning out the 5th wheel, do some laundry and we will head to the lake -- probably tomorrow. We have a few things to do before Jeff, Greg & families arrive... I am SO looking forward to having them all there!!
