Monticello and "The Needles"

This morning we hooked up the RV and moved an hour down the road to Monticello for closer access to "The Needles" of Canyonlands Park. The elevation got higher and the temperature got lower. It was only 14C when we set up camp.

We dressed appropriately and headed to the southern portion or the "Needles" area of Canyonlands Park. And the temp climbed to 29C. We were WAY over-dressed!

Anyway, we sweated it out, looked silly and enjoyed the views. For this drive you are driving on the canyon floor rather than up top as we did yesterday. It's a different perspective with more great views. SO MANY PICTURES. I spent well over an hour going through them all this evening.

Tomorrow we will head to Flagstaff, Arizona and then probably to Lake Havasu to soak up some sun again.

We think Canyonlands were pretty grand, too. Maybe even grander than that "Grand Canyon".
