Cherryville, BC
Gold Planner Campground
Site #3 - $52 (x2) p/w/s no wifi
We are on the road again. We took the scenic Hwy 6 east of Vernon to Cherryville and the Gold Panner campground. Back to "real camping" for us. Wood fires, smoke and oh yes... mosquitoes. Thankfully not too many yet. The campground has changed owners from when we were here 10 years ago and it is for sale once again. We were pretty disappointed in the changes and how it has been "let go". All of the old automobiles, implements and mining equipment has been removed from the front display.
Ron did his customary gathering of twigs and we did enjoy our evening fire plus cocktails. Cheers.
We hiked one of the trails on Wednesday morning. Once again, there were no gold panning displays or equipment along this trail. Some of the trails are closed and the maps are difficult to follow. However, we got our exercise and steps in.
We ended up with neighbors and as the sites are far too close, I was glad we had only paid for 2 nights.
On Thursday we packed up in the light rain and continued on Hwy 6 to the Needles ferry and Nakusp.
