It's been a long time since we "dry camped" without power but we managed. The things I miss the most:
> The ELECTRIC HEATER!!!
> Auto coffee maker
> Electric toaster
> My Microwave to quickly thaw, heat & cook
> My electric blanket
> An Easy Charge for cell phone
> Electric toothbrush charge
So it was a boil water and pour through the filter coffee plus a toast on the stove morning. And damn, my toothbrush went dead and required Inverter plug in. But, surprise! my old butane curling iron still works!
We did a run to Nelson for groceries. It brought back many memories from when Jeff lived there.
Back at the campground we biked about the park and checked out the Kokanee Spawning channels. It is a beautiful area. The channels won't be active until August.
We inquired about staying another night but our site was booked and if we have to move we'd rather keep going. However this turned out to be good thing when 2 bus loads of cadets showed up and started setting up camp just behind us. It's not that they were roudy, but it meant lots of constant chatter and an end to the peaceful, quiet campfires. We celebrated our last evening with some S'mores
Saturday morning we packed up and caught the 11:30 a.m. Balfour ferry.
