We drove to Qualicum Beach yesterday and after visiting with Deb & Rene in the store (and making a few purchases!), we drove up to Parksville and back. We then had dinner at Deb & Rene's before making the 45 minute drive back to our campsite. Our GPS has been a real benefit this trip. We would have been quite lost a number of times if it wasn't directing us! There was only once we wondered about the route it sent us on when we ended up on a logging road en route to Mount Washington. It did however get us where we wanted to go and it really was quite a picturesque drive through the forest, so, one can't complain!
Today we are headed back to Deb & Rene's with our 5th wheel and we will park in their driveway for a couple days. We plan to do a couple side trips to Tofino, etc. but will have a chance to do some more visiting in the evening when they are done work. The rain has let up and the sky is getting brighter, so maybe we'll even have an opportunity to ride our bikes.
